  1. Brew the espresso, stir in half the sugar and let it cool completely.
  2. Whip the heavy cream with the remaining sugar until soft peaks form.
  3. Fold the mascarpone into the whipped cream until smooth and creamy.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger briefly in the cooled coffee — do not soak.
  5. Layer half the soaked biscuits in a small glass, then half the cream.
  6. Repeat with the remaining biscuits and cream, smooth the top.
  7. Chill at least 4 hours, then dust with cocoa powder before serving.
