Ingredients
- White cabbage (whole head)300 g
- Ground beef150 g
- Rice (uncooked)40 g
- Onion80 g
- Carrot60 g
- Tomato paste25 g
- Sour cream30 g
Instructions
- Core the cabbage, drop into boiling salted water 10 minutes — leaves should peel away easily. Trim the thick rib of each leaf flat.
- Mix raw ground beef with parboiled rice, finely chopped sautéed onion and carrot, salt and pepper.
- Place a spoon of filling on the rib end of each leaf, fold sides in and roll tightly. Pack the rolls seam-side down in a wide pot.
- Cover with tomato-broth (water + tomato paste + sour cream + salt), add bay leaf. Simmer covered 1.5 hours on low heat. Serve with extra sour cream.
